Read more about Used Tanning Beds here:
The most important decision a new salon owner may have today is whether or not to buy used tanning beds when opening a "new" tanning salon
: With so many tanning salons going out of business during this consolidation period, there has been a flood of used tanning salon equipment
on the market. Although you may save thousands of
dollars trying find a deal, and there are many of them out there, you could end up spending much more than you
expected if you are properly prepared when buying used stuff. As a new tanning bed salesman for 10 years and used tanning bed broker for the past 5, I can
honestly give you great advice on which
used tanning beds to buy and who to buy them from! (I no longer sell them)
I have created a website to help speed your learning process
and for the very low price of $20, you can have instant access
to over 100 tanning salon industry links and over 10,000 words
to help bring you "up to speed" on this rapidly changing
business opportunity.

Consider this scenario...a customer walks through the door pays you anywhere
from $5 to $35 for a "session", and after a click of the mouse and quick
conversation, you go back to reading, watching a movie or your kids!
Once the customer leaves, you sanitize the tanning bed
and your job is
complete. No inventory, no mess, very low maintenance, and you can
even do other things like operate a video store, laundry, smoothie
counter, or even day care!
My name is Rick Houston and I have been in the indoor tanning
industry for over 15 years with experience in manufacturing,
retail salon locations, and online marketing of all tanning
salon products and I can honestly say NOW is the best time to
open a tanning salon and here are a few of the reasons WHY:
Reason #1: We are currently
experiencing the toughest economic period since the great depression
and this has created a "consolidation" of indoor tanning facilities
and equipment. In the summer of 2010 the USA Today reported
the top 5 cities in the US for
number of tanning salons were Pittsburgh,
Charleston, WV, Akron, Fargo, & Scottsdale. In Charleston,
West Virginia, a city with 52,000 people, there were 52 tanning
salons, or one for every 1,000 residents. By contrast, there
were only 2 McDonalds and 1 Starbucks.
The lesson learned here is that a
consolidation period after an amazing growth period is only natural
and has created great opportunities in both location selection,
build-out costs, and equipment costs. This eBook on How to
Open a Tanning Salon will explain exactly how you can take advantage
of these tough economic times and save thousands on monthly lease
amounts, find free build-out money, and learn where to buy used
tanning salon equipment at .10 to .20 cents on the dollar!
Reason #2: The new Health Bill included a
10% tanning tax which went into effect on July
1, 2010 and this
event, coupled with poor economic conditions, caused many salons "on
the fence", to fail. This is a created a fantastic "buy
low, sell high" opportunity for the open minded business
opportunist.
Most of the recently closed salons
were opened at the end of the growth period, which mirrored the end
of the real estate boom...which created artificially inflated real
estate prices and subsequently created incredibly high monthly rents
for tanning salons. The current landlords were and are
unwilling to negotiate "down" a lease with a current tenant, but
perfectly willing to negotiate a "new" lease at a lower amount with
a "new" tenant. In most cases, 50% of the previous amount.
Buy this eBook and I will show you how to properly ask for and
receive a 50% reduction in monthly lease amounts compared to just a
few years ago AND I will reveal a little know secret on how to
legally avoid the 10% tax!
Reason #3: The World
Health Organization (WHO) in April 2010 placed ultra-violet devices,
along with the sun, on the known carcinogen list. This is not
a surprise and this part of the continued awareness program the WHO
offers to make everyone aware of the damage the Sun, and sunbeds or
tanning beds, can cause to your skin if you ABUSE them or do not
take necessary precautions. This tanning bed and sunbed fact
sheet will from the WHO will explain how they say to "manage" these
risks:

Keep in
mind, we NEED regulation and awareness in our industry. Over 30 of
our states in the US have NO regulation or inspection of tanning
devices what so ever. Also, try to understand we are going
through a regulation period in the industry, along with a
consolidation period of the number of salons, and a transition
period to UV free spray tan products and
Red
Light Bulbs as
well. If you embrace these changes and make it through these
tough times, your salon will be "battle" tested and able to stand
the toughest economic times...now! This eBook will show you
how to set up a small "profit" center that can pay it's bills in the
slowest months and explode in the busy months.
